The retina and vitreous is a subspecialty of ophthalmology concerned with disorders of the back of the eye, many of which may have very serious visual consequences if left untreated.

Some of the more common disorders a retina specialist treats include:

  • Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
  • Diabetic eye disease
  • Trauma and intraocular foreign body
  • Retinal detachments
  • Vascular disease of the retina

At Ophthalmology Associates of San Antonio, you’ll receive superior care from a fellowship-trained, board certified vitreo-retinal specialist. In addition to his extensive experience, Dr. Cooper Clark uses the most modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment available. For your convenience we provide digital angiography/photography onsite at our Riverwalk offices. In addition we have retinal optical coherence tomography (OCT), which allows our retina specialist to view your retina on a cellular level, as if looking at a cross section under a microscope. This helps to identify conditions like macular holes.

Ophthalmology Associates also has a full complement of laser and injection therapies to treat age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and complications of diabetes.
